- 3/4 cup Milk kefir
- 1/2 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup naked whey protein
- 1-2 tsp inulin powder
- 1 egg
- 2 tbsp melted butter or coconut oil
- 1 tbsp pure maple syrup
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla or just measure with heart
Preheat waffle iron
Mix kefir, egg, melted butter, maple syrup, vanilla
Add Flour, whey protein, inulin, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Stir gently until just combined
Protein powder thickens batter, so add 1–3 tbsp milk or water if needed
You want a pourable batter, not thick dough
Let it rest for 5-10 mins
Lightly grease the iron. Cook a bit longer than normal (protein waffles brown faster but need time to firm up).
- This recipe makes about 3-4 large waffles, depending on the size of your waffle maker. Using a larger waffle iron may result in one smaller waffle at the end.
